4ºESO. UNIT 2: VOLLEYBALL.

4º ESO. 2ª Evaluación.

After the Christmas break, we are starting a volleyball unit. Volleyball is a very famous team sport. We will practice the most important techniques, play real game situations and know the basic rules.

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court passing it over the net, under organized rules.

Volleyball was invented by William George Morgan, a Physical Education teacher, in 1895 in the state of Massachusetts (USA). The international volleyball federation was founded in 1947. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since 1964.

We also will talk about beach-volley and seated volley, 2 volleyball types which are currently getting more popular all over the world!
